Introduction to Environmental Literacy: My Journey to Zero Waste While almost 90% of K–12 teachers in the US believe climate change should be taught in school, less than half of teachers are including climate change in their instruction. Learn about the importance of advancing environmental literacy in K–12 and gain the resources and tools needed to help teachers integrate environmental and climate change education in core subjects. This session introduces teachers to a variety of ways they can use storytelling to teach environmental literacy concepts. Our 3-part stories are the vehicle for thinking and problem solving about environmental literacy themes. Part 1 sets up a problem related to the theme, Part 2 develops different aspects of the problem and Part 3 offers solutions. Attendees will participate in a short picture walk.
